Today was the Annual Flat River Grand Prix Motorcycle Race. It is an annual event held in Park Hills, to benefit the March of Dimes. The temperature was 100+*, and with little breeze, the hottest I believe I've ever attended. I have to remark on the lady who pitted next to us---she was a fantastic rider, whether she had been male or female; and although she became overheated and dehydrated, she never gave up and finished the face. I don't know where she placed, as they left before the awards and I didn't get her name; but I would bet she was first in her class. It's great to see someone take that much pride in their sport.
We spent last weekend chasing down a guy who didn't go to court. While we were searching on leads we had received in St. Francois County, I had this gut feeling that he may have gone to Ste. Genevieve County; so on the suggestion of one of the guys, I called the Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Department and gave them his vehicle information. Sure enough, they found him just off of Interstate 55 fueling up! I want to thank the Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Department for their invaluable assistance. Any time I have requested their assistance, they have gone out of their was to help us.
Finally, a good friend of mine, Alice Miller, lost her dad this week. Please keep her in your prayers.
Hope everyone stays cool!!! Will write again soon!!
